WEST ORANGE, NJ — “iPadology/Abstract Expressions,” an exhibit curated by local artist Mansa Mussa that explores how the combination of the iPad, apps and printers can be used to create abstract images that extend the vitality and reality of photography, will be held at the West Orange Arts Council Art Center, located at 551 Valley Road in West Orange, from now until Saturday, Aug. 27.
An opening reception to be held on Wednesday, July 12, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
“I’ve always struggled with the idea of being an abstract artist, and when I started using the iPad three years ago I found a process to realize the potential of creating abstract images,” said Mussa.
“This exhibit is unusual for me because all of the artists have taken iPadology workshops with me in private sessions and workshops in the area.”
Exhibiting artists include: Antoinette Ellis-Williams, Ellen Foto, Fran McClain, Abeni Mussa and Mansa Mussa.
Additional iPadology-themed events at the West Orange Arts Council Art Center include:
- An iPadology Workshop on Saturday, Aug. 12 from noon to 3:00 p.m. A fee and registration are required. Contact Mansa at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up.
