WEST ORANGE, NJ – On March 9, Jersey Mike’s Subs presented a check to West Orange High School in the amount of $2,495 for Project Graduation. On hand for the presentation were WOHS Principal Hayden Moore and Project Graduation co-chairs Leslie Fleischer and Deidre Dyson.
“We are grateful to Jersey Mike’s for their generous contribution to Project Graduation,” said Moore. “Project Graduation is a long-standing tradition here at West Orange High School and an event our seniors look forward to every year.”
The franchise opened its doors in West Orange on Dec.17 and selected West Orange High School as their first designated fundraiser. Jersey Mike’s said it is active in their communities, investing in local charities and organizations. Since 2010, Jersey Mike's locations have raised close to $10 million and given out more than 750,000 free subs to help local causes.
Throughout December, a portion of the price of a sub at Jersey Mike’s was collected for the high school, and Moore decided that the donation would go toward Project Graduation, which provides high school seniors with a final night together following graduation. Featuring organized, adult-supervised and alcohol-free activities, the event begins following graduation and lasts into the early morning hours. Chaperones include parents and teachers in the West Orange school community. Swimming, food, rides, and games are included in the evening's fun.
