WEST ORANGE, NJ - Fresh off a win over Verona on Friday night, the Livingston ice hockey team dismantled West Orange, 10-0, on Saturday at Codey Arena.

Eight different Lancers scored a goal in the "mercy rule" win, including two goals from Seth Crockett and Adam Lanel. Crockett also scored two in Friday nights 3-0 win.

"We play a lot of back to back games, so we're kind of used to it," Livingston head coach Dave Conklin said. "We just have to make sure we stay focused for each fame. As they come, guys need to be prepared. I think we're pretty equipped with that."

The Lancers came out of the gate fast. Two and a half minutes into the game, Jonny Garfinkel beat the goalie low to give Livingston a 1-0 lead.

Crockett scored his first goal with under six minutes left to make the score 2-0. Forward Patrick Findling continued Livingston's offensive prowess when he jammed in a loose puck in front of the net with under two minutes to play in the first, sending the Lancers to the locker room with a 3-0 lead.

Less than one minute into the second period, Livingston's Josh Delseni scored on a snapshot from the point for the Lancer's fourth goal of the game. Adam Lanel and Cameron Friedfertig quickly found the back of the net, giving Livingston a 6-0 lead with 10 minutes to play in the second period.

All together, the Lancers scored six goals in the second period, as Jake and Seth Crockett each added a goal in the final seven minutes of the period to give Livingston a 8-0 lead after two periods of play.

"Games like this we try to get everyone involved, stay out of the box, work on the little things," Garfinkel said. "Today we did a good job of that, our goalies played really well and our power play was pretty good. We're just trying to get everyone involved."

Jared Appelbaum scored the ninth goal of the game with 9:52 remaining in the third period, before Lanel ended the game with his second goal, this time off a face-off win.

Livingston's defense led the way, allowing minimal scoring opportunities for West Orange.

Our 'D' is doing a good job all year," Conklin said. "…Today, we rotated all six of our defenseman in, so everyone got a lot of playing time. Freshman did a real nice job of getting some minutes."

The Lancers will have off on Sunday before playing Robbinsville on Monday and MKA on Wednesday.
