WEST ORANGE, NJ - Unfortunately for the football contingent from West Orange High School, the Mountaineers were unable to build on last weekend's huge upset of Bloomfield, as the locals were overwhelmed by Montclair High, 53-7, on Friday night, in West Orange.

This lopsided loss comes on the heels of the invigorating, 35-14, victory that the then winless Mountaineers posted over the then unbeaten Bengals just seven days earlier at WOHS.

This result dropped WOHS to (1-6), while the suddenly surging MHS Mountie-Bulldogs moved to (2-4). They now remain very much in contention for a state playoffs slot.

West Orange's only tally in the loss to Montclair came when junior back Rood Romullen ran the rock into the house from nine yards out to make the score 14-7 late in the first frame.

That however, was the only time homestanding West Orange came close to scoring against the MHS defense.

All Hallows' Eve, Oct. 31, will find the Mountaineers traveling to take on East Orange at Robeson Stadium in a 1 p.m. start.
