Will Fanslau scored West Orange’s only goal of the night with assists from Captains Alec Hill and Jonathan Miller but two additional goals by MKA's Maxwell Goldfarb and Bradley Bergman, (assists by Bergman, Gus Wallach, Goldfarb and Sibilia) ended the second period 7-1.

The third period included two last goals by MKA. Both goals were scored by Jaworski and assisted by Pickett. The game ended with a MKA win, 9-1.

The Mountaineers have shown improvement despite the recent losses. Senior Elijah Roberts said, “Despite the score, this was actually one of our better games. Playing defense consistently has always been our main goal. Today we showed some strong spots on the defensive side of the puck, but the number of goals we let up was unacceptable. Alec (Hill) and Jonathan (Miller) have always been our main source of offense, and prove to be our biggest asset every game.”

Coach Dustin Good of MKA said, “I was really pleased to get everyone on the ice and contribute and get some younger players some more ice time. Number 17 (Maxwell Goldfarb) missed the first part of the season with a concussion, but got his first career goal as a freshman.”

The Mountaineers will play their next game at Codey Arena against Verona on Jan. 20 at 2:15 p.m..

Extra Time

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.

As fans watching the World Cup know too well, bathroom breaks are a serious dilemma, especially for those who don’t have a TV in the loo.  This biological necessity is exasperated by beer, which during World Cup matches also fuels a strong propensity to throw chairs and instigate riots.
