MONTCLAIR, NJ - Montclair Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a stabbing in the area of Miller Street on Monday at 10:49 p.m. The suspect is currently at large, according to police. 

Officers arrived to find that a 48-year-old Montclair man had been stabbed and already transported to the hospital by relatives. He was suffering from multiple stab wounds to the abdomen, according to police.

Witnesses reported that the suspect, identified as Donald “Ibn” Silvera, had fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival.

A 16-year-old male at the scene was found to have a small laceration on his right arm, also allegedly caused by Silvera. This injury was treated at the scene by medical personnel.  

​This incident is reported to have stemmed from an argument over a bicycle that had been stolen from the 16-year-old victim earlier that day.

The adult victim is currently listed as stable. 

Silvera is being charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault, Weapons offenses, and Child Endangerment.

This incident is still under investigation.
