WEST ORANGE, NJ - On Sunday, June 9, the Mountaintop League will hold a Blood Drive at their building at 12 Indian Road, West Orange. The drive will run from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm and the community is encouraged to participate.
Anne-Sophie Whitehead of MTL explains that "the drive is open to the community at large and we hope to make this a success, and a regular event. Mountain Top League's goal is to benefit our community's children through sports and health. This drive helps us contribute to the health of their families by working with the American Red Cross."
Every 5 seconds, someone in the United States is in need of a blood transfusion. Only 38% of the population is eligible to donate blood, yet 1 pint of blood (given in one donation, and in about 1/2 hr of our time) can save up to 3 lives. Donors can donate blood about every two months.
It's easy to make an appointment: call Anne-Sophie Whitehead directly at 973-698-4861, or register online at redcrossblood.org and enter Sponsor Code 02216197. Go to http://www.mountaintopleague.com for more information on Mountain Top League.
