WEST ORANGE, NJ - Beginning on the evening of April 20, Mt. Pleasant Avenue, between Pleasant Valley Way and Prospect Avenue will be closed to traffic from approximately 7:00 p.m. to 5 a.m. Closures will continue for about eight weeks through mid-June. Click HERE for updates.
New Jersey American Water Company will be constructing a new 16-inch diameter water main in this section of Mt. Pleasant Avenue, which is also known as State Highway No. 10. Interstate Route 280 will be the detour route around the closed section of Mt. Pleasant Avenue.
Residents in the Englishtown section of West Orange, which is bound by Mt. Pleasant Avenue on the south, Route 280 on the north and Pleasant Valley Way on the west, will use Pleasant Valley Way to access or egress the area via Buckingham Road or Mt. Pleasant Place, where the First Aid Squad is located.
Residents who live along this section of Mt. Pleasant Avenue need to access or egress their homes via the nearest local street in the Englishtown neighborhood from/to Pleasant Valley Way and Buckingham Road or Mt Pleasant Place.
Residents in Essex Green Villas will use Prospect Avenue to Rooney Circle and Marion Drive for access to, or egress from, the development.
Customers of commercial properties near Pleasant Valley Way shall use Pleasant Valley Way for access and egress while customers or employees of those properties near Prospect Avenue and Marion Drive shall use Marion Drive from/to Prospect Avenue and Rooney Circle.
