WEST ESSEX AREA, NJ — A new column that will highlight the stories of empowered entrepreneurial women and/or “mompreneurs” who are taking control of their careers, making their own hours and doing what they love most has been officially launched on TAPinto Livingston, TAPinto West Orange and TAPinto West Essex (Roseland, Fairfield, Essex Fells and the three Caldwells).
This new platform, “West Essex MOMpreneurs,” is intended to showcase local small businesses, passions, services, products and more. The first column entry, published Monday morning, tells the story of two Livingston women who recently fell in love with the country’s fastest-growing but highly misunderstood sport and are now on a mission to encourage others to get involved in Livingston, Roseland and beyond through Pickleball Palace.
Column author Jackie Schatell, a Livingston native and current West Orange resident, launched this column as a way to celebrate all the smart, savvy, busy and courageous women who “don’t always have the time, budget or know-how to promote themselves and their passions.” She said she hopes to do so by making the experience as affordable and effective as possible.
“As a publicist, social media strategist and writer, I often find that people with small businesses including mompreneurs don’t always know how to promote their businesses or have the time or budgets for doing so,” said Schatell. “As a mompreneur myself, I’m quite sensitive to this plight and realized this a was a market niche I could fill with my passions for writing and helping others.
“To gauge interest, I posted in social media about the column for a week or so and received dozens upon dozens of inquiries. I realized I was definitely onto something. Thus, the West Essex MOMpreneurs column was born. Since then, I’ve talked to many impressive women and can’t wait to help share their stories with the community. I also look forward to hearing from more mompreneurs now that the first column has launched.”
To support the column, Schatell has created a coordinating West Essex MOMpreneurs Facebook page, where community members can come together to support, learn from and share their passions with other like-minded people on a daily basis.
