WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange Police Blotter for the end of July 2018
July 21: A Newark woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant after a Main Street auto parts store said she shoplifted several items. Dana Dininno, 33, was taken into custody just after 10 p.m., after police were called to the store to investigate. She was found to have a $1,500 warrant out of East Orange.
July 21: A West Orange man is facing burglary charges after allegedly stealing more than $4,000 in cash and merchandise from two township businesses. Maximiliano Silva, 25, was taken into custody around 3 a.m.when police found him attempting to break into a Main Street coffee shop. He is a suspect in a third burglary of a Main Street business. He is charged with two counts of burglary, possession of burglar tools, two counts of theft, resisting arrest, hindering and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
July 23: A West Orange man was arrested on a bench warrant following a traffic stop on Park Avenue. Lester Almendarez, 25, received several summonses including failure to stop and driving with a suspended license.
July 31: A 19-year-old Newark woman has been charged in connection with an attempted burglary on July 29 in West Orange. The woman is suspected in at least three separate incidents in the township, where she or an associate knocked on the door of an elderly person to distract them while someone burglarized the home. The woman was issued a summons and is currently being held in a nearby county on another charge.
July 31: A West Orange man has been issued a no contact order, after owners of a Laurel Avenue construction site say he trespassed. A municipal judge ordered Robert Daniel, 62, to stay away from the worksite of a future Hindu temple after he allegedly entered the site last month to take pictures. His court date is Oct. 4.
