Registration is Now Open for Two Mountain Top League (MTL) Programs: Little Kickers and the 3v3 Training Program

WEST ORANGE, NJ – Registration is now open for two Mountain Top League (MTL) programs: Little Kickers and the 3v3 Training Program. Both programs are open to West Orange residents with children over the age of four and those in Pre-K and Kindergarten. In the Little Kickers program, children will play games on small fields. In the 3v3 program, there will be a 60-minute training session. Players will spend the first 20 minutes with trainers working on individual ball skills and will then be divided into smaller groups to play small-sided games (three players versus three players) for the remaining 40 minutes. The spring Little Kickers Program, which will run with teams and parent volunteers as coaches, will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays and will be played at Lower Redwood School from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The season will run for 10 weeks starting on the weekend of April 9/10 and end the weekend of June 18/19. No sessions will take place the weekend of May 28/29 for Memorial Day Weekend.

Volunteer coaches are permitted to request one player besides their own child per team. Besides siblings, MTL is unable to honor specific requests for teammates or coaches in the Little Kickers program.

For Little Kickers, each child will receive a team jersey, shorts, shin guards, and socks. Each child is required to come each week with his/her own # 3 soccer ball, and they must wear at least sneakers. Soccer cleats are not required for Little Kickers, but they are recommended.

The Registration Fee is $85 for Little Kickers (no refunds). This fee is good through March 7. The Late registration Fee is $115 and will be charged from March 7-15. Space is limited for the Little Kickers program, and registration will close once all available spots are filled, those interested are advised not to wait to register. Registration closed on March 15. No registrations will be accepted after March 15. For those who miss registration, those children can still participate in the 3v3 program. "Don't wait until the last minute to sign-up. In-house soccer is our most popular sport and the spots fill up quickly," said McCree.

MTL’s co-ed 3v3 Training Program will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays at Edison Middle School. The season will run for 10 weeks starting on the weekend of April 9/10 and end the weekend of June 18/19. No sessions will take place the weekend of May 28/29 for Memorial Day Weekend. Children participating in the 3v3 Training Program will receive a training jersey, shorts, and socks. Each child is required to come each week with his/her own # 3 or #4 soccer ball and must wear shin guards and cleats.

There will be two 3v3 sessions offered depending on age:

  • Session 1: 9 a.m. – 10 am. – For players born in 2010, 2011, and 2012.
  • Session 2: 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. – For players born in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

  • Session 2) Weekend of April 16/17
  • Session 3) Weekend of April 23/24
  • Session 4) Weekend of April 30/May 1
  • Session 5) Weekend of May 7/8
  • Session 6) Weekend of May 14/15
  • Session 7) Weekend of May 21/22
  • No Sessions May 28/29 in observance of Memorial Day Weekend
  • Session 8) Weekend of June 4/5
  • Session 9) Weekend of June 11/12
  • Session 10) Weekend of June 18/19
