Shop West Orange Property Tax Reward Program Launches November 1

WEST ORANGE, NJ – The Shop West Orange Property Tax Reward Program launches officially on Friday, Nov. 1, and all residents can now start saving by signing up.

Approximately 30 businesses have signed up for the launch already, with more joining each day.  Residents can sign up for cards at www.westorangechamber.com. Cards can bemailed to you or can be picked up at Town Hall, 66 Main St. A list of participating merchants is available on the official website at www.propertytaxcard.com/ShopWestOrange/participants.  

When residents sign up for their Property Tax cards and shop at partcipating businesses, they will pay the regular price for services. However, the merchants will process the advertised savings in the form of rebates that will be deducted from a homeowner's property tax bill.  Renters will receive annual cash rebates in the form of a check.

Participating businesses are listed on a dedicated "Shop West Orange" webiste at: www.propertytaxcard.com/shopwestorange.  Users can log on to view their personal account and track their savings.

Check the site regularly as new businesses are being added daily.

Early studies from other towns already participating in the program show participating businesses are experiencing a 4.6 percent average increase in sales and a 14.5 percent average increase in customer retention when using the program. This is based on increases in local exposure to a targeted and motiviated audience willing to reduce property taxes through the program.

 Businesses pay a participation fee of $10 per month to Finn Credit.  Businesses will in return, receive: 

Users can log on to view their personal account and track their savings. Additionally, the program offers an increase in local exposure to a captivated, highly-motivated audience looking to reduce their property tax out-of-pocket expenses. For a participation fee of $10 per month, you receive:

  • Bi-monthly email blasts
  • Window clings identifying merchant participation.
  • Shop West Orange Facebook page.
  • Highly visible banner ads on the Shop West Orange website.
  • Mobile app scheduled to launch Jan. 1, 2014.

Participating businesses will be listed on a dedicated ‘Shop West Orange’ website, www.propertytaxcard.com/shopwestorange

Merchants wishing to participate in Shop West Orange can fill out a Business Registration Form at www.propertytaxcard.com/ShopWestOrange/addbusiness.
