WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange boys soccer team defeated cross-town rival Seton Hall Prep 1-0 on Oct 6. West Orange, ranked number 14 in the NJ.com Top 20, held the shutout over number 2 Seton Hall Prep thanks to strong defense and a seven save performance by sophomore keeper Diego Pedrido.

Senior captain Rory Stello scored with eight minutes remaining on a header off a cross by sophomore Russel Hoffer.

The Mountaineers had the upper hand, controlling much of the game leading up to Stello's goal, getting unlucky with a few chances. “Rory has been the rah-rah guy for us and scored an unbelievable goal,” said head coach Doug Nevins.

“It's just the greatest feeling ever,” said Rory Stello describing his header that made the difference in the game.

The Mountaineers, now 8-2 on the season look forward this week to another tough matchup against Millburn on Thursday.
