WEST ORANGE, NJ — There were three additional cases of COVID-19 reported in West Orange on Tuesday, according to Mayor Robert Parisi.
The total number of West Orange intake of cases was 1,279. Fourteen residents remained hospitalized and of them, three were in intensive care. The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in West Orange remained at 156. There were 588 current active coronavirus cases in West Orange.
Essex County reported a total of 17,279 cases of COVID-19 Monday, an increase of 33 overnight, with 33,936 negative test results. There have been 1,608 deaths in Essex County attributed to the coronavirus.
In New Jersey, an additional 672 coronavirus cases Tuesday brought the total in the state to 155,764, according to the state Department of Health. The number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized as of late Monday was 2,723, 758 fewer one week earlier.
