West Orange Awards Energy Aggregation Consulting Contract Program to Save Residents, Businesses on Energy Costs

The town council has awarded a contract to Gable Associates to devise a competitive bidding process for a Third Party Supplier to provide power supply to West Orange residents and businesses in an effort to provide savings in energy costs. Gable Associates is a state registered energy agent and they will be paid by the selected supplier and not West Orange township.

According to the township, "municipal aggregation allows townships to enter into agreements with energy brokers to purchase energy at reduced costs. The program empowers the community to use its collective purchasing power to receive a bulk rate for their energy. The process ensures that prices will remain lower than the average retail price charged to customers purchasing their energy from the utility."

“We are pleased to have found and begun implementation on a new initiative that significantly saves our taxpayers money. I am confident that Gable Associates will provide quality energy consulting services and strategic insight to help us achieve this goal which will collectively save West Orange residents and businesses on their energy bills" Mayor Parisi said.

Residents would automatically be included in the new energy aggregation program. If a resident has already switched to a third party supplier (TPS) or wishes to opt out, they will not be included.

Extra Time

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.

As fans watching the World Cup know too well, bathroom breaks are a serious dilemma, especially for those who don’t have a TV in the loo.  This biological necessity is exasperated by beer, which during World Cup matches also fuels a strong propensity to throw chairs and instigate riots.
