EAST ORANGE, NJ - According to preliminary reports from authorities, Ruben Johnson, Jr., son and namesake of the owner of the popular night spot Bogie’s in East Orange, fatally shot his wife, and their 10-year-old son before turning the gun on himself inside their home in Burlington Township.

Johnson, 50, allegedly killed his wife Mishanda, 48, and 10-year-old son late Monday in what police are calling a murder-suicide, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.

The Johnsons established a long standing business in East Orange, located at 527 William Street. Bogie’s has long been a popular destination for patrons to host private parties, birthdays, banquet events, wedding receptions, corporate functions and baby showers.
