The Verona Public Library is excited to host debut children's book author Robin Barone, who recently released the book “Where is Robin? USA” with illustrator Robyn Mitchell.  Ms. Barone will be at the Verona Public Library, 17 Gould Street, on Saturday, June 4 at 11 am where she will host a special story time for children, as well as sign copies of her book.  Her book will be available for purchase at the event.

Where Is Robin? USA is a vividly illustrated journey around the USA that intends to plant seeds of curiosity about the world in children through adventure travel books. The series is based upon the personal experiences of the creator and author Robin Barone. She believes that by learning about the world at an early age, children develop greater respect for the diversity among us, which is crucial in an increasingly global and interconnected world.

Ms. Barone is an avid traveler who recognized travel as a powerful motivator to develop and encourage curiosity in young minds. Robin, a native Philadelphian who has lived in Paris, Buenos Aires, and Singapore in addition to having visited over 50 countries, currently resides in New York City. Where Is Robin? USA is her first book in this series.

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Verona Public Library.  For more information about the Where Is Robin? story time, visit www.veronalibary.org or call the Library at 973-857-4848.

Extra Time

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.

As fans watching the World Cup know too well, bathroom breaks are a serious dilemma, especially for those who don’t have a TV in the loo.  This biological necessity is exasperated by beer, which during World Cup matches also fuels a strong propensity to throw chairs and instigate riots.
