Victims Cut Out of Vehicle After Harrison Ave. Collision, Police Say

MONTCLAIR, NJ - A motor vehicle collision on Harrison Avenue in Montclair resulted in four occupants being entrapped inside of one of the vehicles on Friday afternoon.

Sometime around 1 p.m., a 36-year-old woman from West Orange was struck as she was driving northbound on Harrison Avenue by a 33-year-old Montclair man as he was driving west on Porter Place.

Due to damage to the vehicle, the woman and her three passengers were unable to exit the vehicle until first responders arrived with tools.

Lt. David O'Dowd of the Montclair Police Department stated that the Montclair Fire Department had cut the doors off the northbound vehicle to remove the occupants.

"The occupants of the northbound vehicle had complaint of pain and all four occupants were transported to area hospitals," he said.   

The male driver of the westbound vehicle was uninjured. 

Authorities are still investigating this incident.
