West Orange 2011 Golf Schedule Online

Golf enthusiasts in West Orange can now access information on a wide range of golf tournaments available in West Orange by visiting the Recreation Department website at  The Rec Dept.  homepage lists each tournament with a link to the corresponding registration forms.  The list includes Senior Citizen tournaments as well as invitationals.

Senior citizen tournaments are co-sponsored by the Recreation Department and the West Orange Elks Lodge 1590.  Participants must be 55 years of age or older.  The first stop on this years “Senior Tour” is Montclair Country Club on April 25th.  Additional tournaments are scheduled for Rock Spring & Crestmont.  Another tournament or two is likely to be added to the schedule.

Invitational tournaments kick off with the Libretti’s Tournament on June 6thbenefitting Down Syndrome Research.   The event will be held at Maplewood Country Club.  Also in June is the granddaddy of all WO tournaments – the Lefty Boland Tournament.  The Boland Tournament funds technology grants to special education classrooms and programs in the West Orange Public Schools.  It is scheduled for Rock Spring on June 27th.  The WO Police Athletic League will hold their annual tournament at Brooklake Country Club on August 15th.  Proceeds benefit recreational & sports programs sponsored by the PAL.  The final invitational is sponsored by the Shillelagh Club in October at Byrne Golf Course.   Their tournament provides scholarships for graduating seniors attending college.  Each invitational has openings for interested golfers as well as sponsorship & advertising opportunities.
