West Orange Announces Bench Warrant Arrests


WEST ORANGE, NJ — The following individuals were recently identified as having outstanding warrants, according to West Orange police.

1. An officer observed a white BMW on Pleasant Valley Way at a high rate of speed on June 16 and conducted a motor vehicle stop near Lakeview Drive. After conducting a license check via Info-Cop, it was revealed that the driver had an outstanding warrant out of Bloomfield in the amount of $120, according to police.

She was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where she posted full bail in the amount of $120. She was then released with a motor vehicle summons pending court action in Bloomfield.

2. An officer observed the driver of a White Acura MDX throw an empty water bottle out of the driver-side window while patrolling the area of Central Avenue on June 17. While conducting a motor vehicle stop at Central Avenue and South Jefferson Street in the City of Orange, another officer arrived as back up.

The vehicle operator had an expired registration and insurance card, according to police. A check on Info-Cop revealed that he had an active warrant out of the City of Orange.

According to police, he was issued a summons for throwing litter from a vehicle, failure to possess an insurance card and registration card, an obstruction of windshield for vision, and unclear plates.

The individual was arrested and transported to headquarters, where his girlfriend posted his full bail in the amount of $165, according to the report. He was released pending court action in Orange.

3. An officer conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing a vehicle making an illegal turn from Eagle Rock Avenue to Woodhull Avenue. According to police, the driver did not have his driver’s license in his possession.

When the officer questioned him about the license, the man informed him that his license was suspended and he may have unpaid tickets or a warrant, according to police. The officer confirmed that his license was suspended, and that he had active warrants out of Secaucus and Union.  

The man was taken in custody and issued summonses for not obeying a traffic control device and for driving with a suspended license.

4. Two officers responded to a request from the East Orange Police Department to take an individual into custody on warrant for contempt. The individual was transported to West Orange Police headquarters, where he was held in lieu of $500 bail. He was then transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility by the officers.
