West Orange Cobras Win Spring Cerbo League Championship In Come From Behind Thriller Against West Essex

WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange Cobras 10U Travel Baseball Team won the 2013 Spring Cerbo Travel League Championship with an exciting 8-7 victory over the West Essex Warriors on Sunday, June 16, 2013.

After trailing, 4-0, early on, the Cobras came back to tie the game with strong hitting from Nico Rosamillia, JJ Scavalla, Jonathan Strozyk, Angelo Deer and Luke Stennett.  Andrew Orabona, Gio Amato, JordanQuiles and Tai Mair played very solid defense in the outfield.  Garrett Fitschen made several solid plays at shortstop.  After falling behind, 7-6, in the top of the seventh inning, the Cobras scored two runs with a rally in the bottom of the seventh inning started by a double hit by JJ Scavalla.  Jonathan Strozyk capped the rally and scored the winning run with a steal of home.  Sean Brown, Angelo Deer and Eitan Kaynan pitched well for West Orange.

West Orange, coached by Jason Scavalla, finished its spring season with a regular-season record of 11-1.
