WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange Township Council recently voted in favor of a re-development plan for the structure located at 300 Executive Drive, prepared by Heyer, Gruel and Associates. The property is owned by RA 300 Executive LLC.

According to the council, this plan seeks to modernize the office building, which the council hopes will raise property prices in the area.

Earlier this year, the West Orange Township Council adopted a resolution designating the property located on Executive Drive and Rooney Circle, which includes 300 Executive Drive and three other office buildings, as an area in need of re-development.

Heyer, Gruel and Associates was selected on June 12 to formulate a re-development plan in July. Some residents felt that the plan was incomplete, since the proposal only sought to modernize one building.

However, Council President Susan McCartney suggested that although no further plans are currently in place, renovating the office building would positively impact the surrounding properties.

According to the council, objectives include updating the internal and external appearance in a manner that is more consistent with current office trends in order to increase marketability.

The council is currently unsure when new plans to re-develop the remaining three buildings in need of re-development will be presented.
