WEST ORANGE, NJ — A West Orange family in the Lourdes neighborhood was devastated after they lost their home in a fire during last week's nor'easter.

The family's belongings that weren't destroyed by the flames were damaged by water and smoke, according to a Go Fund Me page set up by a friend to help Pamela Alfaro, her husband and two young children.

"In a blink of an eye, your life can change drastically," the page states. "...We were extremely lucky to say the least. No one was hurt and we got out safe."

Attempts to reach out to the family for comment have yet to be successful.

The online fundraiser has raised nearly $1,000 toward the $5,000 goal in less than a day.
