WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange police and fire departments responded on Tuesday to a structure fire at 3 Whittlesey Avenue at approximately 3:35 p.m., according to the police department.
The residents were evacuated, along with the residents at 1 and 5 Whittlesey Avenue. The fire was extinguished and no injuries have been reported, but the fire resulted in the displacement of the first- and second-floor tenants, according to police. The tenants are making arrangements with the help of the Red Cross.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Officer and Essex County Sheriff’s Department were advised accordingly, and the investigation is being handled by the West Orange Fire Department.
