WEST ORANGE, NJ – West Orange High School junior basketball player Mya Bembry recently scored her 1,000th career point during a 61-36 win over Teaneck.

Bembry hit her 1,000th point in the third quarter of this game, in which she scored 18 point and had 10 rebounds and five steals to log her 12th double-double of the year.

Bembry has averaged 18.7 points, 13.5 rebounds and 4.9 steals per game, according to statistics. She was also recognized by Mayor Robert Parisi at the annual Chamber of Commerce Breakfast for her selection as the Super Essex Conference Player of the Year and for helping to lead her team to a 23-4 record, a SEC Liberty title and its first trip to the Essex County Tournament final.
