WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange High (WOHS) School Boys and Girls Step teams took first and second place in the Youth Step USA Regional Competition that was held on Feb. 14 in the high school auditorium. Carteret High School came in third.

The West Orange teams have qualified for the National Competition that is being held in Harrisburg, PA on May 23.

The WOHS Boys Step team, under the direction of William Farley, received a $500 cash prize for their first- place win. The team, Ab-Salute, is the current 2013 Regional Champions (New Jersey and Pennsylvania) and former 2012 National Champion.

The WOHS Girls Step Team, Nu Theta Omega, under the direction of Coach Keisha Yarrel, received a $250 cash prize.
