WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange High School (WOHS) Boys Basketball team captured the Cranford Tournament title on Dec. 28, joining the WOHS girls' team in first-place victories, by defeating West Windsor-Plainsboro North, 54-42.

Gabe Silvera was the top scorer for West Orange with 21 points. Tyshawn Dukes contributed 10 points and Jelani Jackson added seven, staying ahead of West Windsor-Plainsboro North for the win.

Jaden Sands of West Windsor-Plainsboro North scored 13 points, Saubhagya Balyan scored 12 and Isaiah Cureton had nine.

The Mountaineers are hoping to hit their stride following the tournament win. With the departure of several senior starters in June, the team is rebuilding with varsity and junior varsity players. Their current record is 2-3 overall and 0-3 in division/conference play,

The team takes on Newark Tech in an away game on Friday at 4 p.m.
