West Orange High School Football Beefsteak Fundraiser Draws Crowd

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Over 100 supporters of West Orange High School Football filled the Toby Katz Center in Degnan Park Friday night to raise money for the 2012 football season.  Parents, coaches, and administrators, from WOHS, West Orange PAL, and the West Orange Rec department enjoyed an all you can eat filet mignon beefsteak dinner in anticipation of another strong season.

The evening began with a welcome from Bill Kehoe, West Orange Rec Director and Master of Ceremonies, along with John Jacobs, head football coach at WOHS.  Marcus White gave the invocation, and a moment of silence was held to honor the memories of Vincent Albanese and Donato "Dan" Parisi, PAL patriarchs and town sports supporters that passed away last week.

The regular season begins on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 1:00 pm with a home game at WOHS against Teaneck.  Freshmen football games are played Saturday mornings at 9 and JV games on Monday afternoons.  A schedule of the games will be posted in the near future.

Meet the Beloved Local Doctor Killed in Pedestrian-Vehicle Accident

ESSEX FELLS, NJ - Dr. Jan Huston, 66, who was struck and killed by a vehicle while on the sidewalk near her home in Essex Fells on Tuesday morning, was the medical director of the Breast Center at HackensackUMC Mountainside in Glen Ridge.

She was rushed to the same hospital following the accident, where she died a short time later.

PATERSON, NJ - According to multiple reports, the burning car that was found in Paterson on Friday with two unidentified male bodies is registered to Housewives of NJ alum Kim DePaola.
