WEST ORANGE, NJ - West Orange High School junior Tyler Galantini recently won the 47th annual New Jersey Junior Golf Championship title at the Watchung Valley Golf Club in Watchung, NJ. The event was sponsored by the New Jersey State Golf Association and American Junior Golf Association.

Galantini was the top seed in the competition that pitted him against 14 other competitors in the under-18 age group. He defeated fourth-seed Dean Greyseman, 4-3, in the semifinals and third-seed Charlie Cummings, 3-2, after he chipped in for par on the 16th hole.

rising star on the local high school golf circuit, Galantini helped lead the Mountaineers this season, with Galantini finishing fourth overall at the Essex County Tournament on April 19 at Hendricks Golf Club in Belleville. 

Prior to his win at the NJJGC, Galantini took first on July 17 at the PGA Junior Golf Tournament held at Ramsey Golf and Country Club in Ramsey, NJ in the 11-15 division.
