WEST ORANGE, NJ — The 15th annual West Orange High School (WOHS) Mid-Atlantic Indoor Network (M.A.I.N.) Winter Color Guard Invitational, an action-packed event featuring some of the best color guards in the area, will be held on Friday in the Tarnoff Gymnasium beginning at 4 p.m.

During the even, several area high schools from New York and New Jersey will perform visual, theatrical and choreographed programs that include the elements of banners, flags, rifles, sabers, and other props to tell their stories.

Several area high schools from New York and New Jersey will be performing in different group categories.

As hosts of the event, WOHS will perform in exhibition only, with junior varsity scheduled to perform at 5:53 p.m. and varsity set to perform at 8:57 p.m. A 60-minute dinner intermission will follow the junior varsity performance, and the West Orange Adaptive Color Guard will perform at 9:05 p.m.

All WOHS seniors in the color guard program will be recognized during the awards ceremony that will follow the performances.

The team hopes that this family-friendly event will serve as an opportunity for local youth to see how the intricacies of dance, balance, athleticism and coordination are utilized in color guard.

Tickets for the competition are $10 at the door for adults and $8 for seniors and students. Food and beverages will be available for sale.
