WEST ORANGE, NJ - West Orange High School (WOHS) senior wrestler Victor Lopez defeated Domenic Difrancescantonio of Hanover Park 10-6, in the 113 lb. division at the Region 3 Wrestling Tournament held at West Orange High School on Saturday. The victory earned Lopez a spot in the NJSIAA Wrestling Championship at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on March 3, 4 and 5.

"Lopez's workouts have been intense and he's opened it up. He has a stronger attack on his feet," said WOHS head coach Steve Zichella.

Lopez continues to shatter WOHS records, winning his second Region 3 championship and extending his school record to 134 wins. Lopez is also the first wrestler in WOHS history to earn 30 wins in each of his four years. His current record for the 2017 season is 32-1.

"Vic has never looked so good," said Zichella. "He's peaking at the right time and we're happy with his development over the past few weeks."
