WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange Township Council paid tribute to the late Gerald Gurland, a renowned architect and long-time chair of the West Orange Historic Preservation Commission (WOHPC), at a council meeting on Tuesday.

Current WOHPC chairman Brian Feeney said Gurland cared deeply about the Township of West Orange and that the WOHPC will miss him.

“Gerald always wanted the building to be a reflection of a landscape that would serve the needs of the people,” he said. “He improved so many things here, especially the Edison Battery Factory.”

The next Council meeting will be on Feb. 21. To read more about this meeting click HERE
