WEST ORANGE, NJ — Mayor Robert Parisi recently participated in Mayor’s Day at Mount Pleasant Elementary School, where he visited the classes and read a story to a Kindergarten class.

The RSVP Center of Essex County, which is sponsored by Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ, currently has 51 “RSVP Reading Buddies” volunteers visiting elementary schools in West Orange, Maplewood/South Orange, Orange, and Jersey City and reading books to more than 500 kindergarten-through second-grade students. RSVP Reading Buddies volunteers visit Mount Pleasant Elementary School weekly to read to students.
