West Orange Police Respond to Attempted Murder on Valley Road

WEST ORANGE, NJ - A woman was shot multiple times during an attempted murder on Valley Road early this morning.

Shortly after midnight on Feb. 8, West Orange police responded to a call at 428 Valley Road. Upon arrival, they found a several family members gathered around a grey Toyota in the middle of Valley Road by Glebe Street.  7-8 shots had been fired into the vehicle, and the female passenger in the car had been shot multiple times.  The injuries were not life-threatening and she was transported to University of Medicine and Dentistry (UMDNJ) in Newark.

The family had just left a party at the Heritage Bar, located at 442 Valley Road, when the incident occurred. Family members were following behind the Toyota when the shots were fired.

According to the driver of the Toyota, the driver had been in an argument with an individual outside the Heritage Bar earlier in the evening.

Two males were seen running into a vehicle and fleeing the scene. The West Orange Police Department will be investigating.
