WEST ORANGE, NJ — Sometime overnight on Tuesday, police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle that was parked outside 50 Columbia Street in West Orange at midnight and missing approximately 50 minutes later.
According to the owner of the vehicle, a black 2000 Ford 250, the vehicle was locked and he was in possession of the only key.
Between the hours of 4:50 a.m. on Tuesday and 6 a.m. on Wednesday, West Orange police also responded to reports of theft from three vehicles parked in driveways on Oakridge Road and Gilbert Place.
Some unknown suspects entered an unlocked vehicle in the driveway of 76 Oakridge Road sometime overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday and removed approximately $40 in U.S. currency, according to police.
Between the same hours, some unknown suspects entered two vehicles parked in the driveway of 37 Gilbert Place and removed loose change from both center consoles. Police said a camera is mounted on the front west side of Roosevelt Middle School, but the principal advised police that the cameras would not have captured images of the suspects from that distance.
