WEST ORANGE, NJ — There are no West Orange residents in intensive care units for COVID-19 as of Wednesday, Mayor Robert Parisi announced on his Facebook page.

"Today is the first day since March 20 without any residents being in ICU or critical care as a result of COVID-19!!," Parisi posted.

There were two additional cases of COVID-19 reported in West Orange on Wednesday. The total intake of cases in West Orange was 1,459, with no additional deaths reported on Wednesday. Deaths are included in the "total intake" number and remain "active" until a full investigation is complete. The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in West Orange was 184.

There were 141 current active coronavirus cases in West Orange. The township reports that there have been 1,242 recovered and closed cases.

Essex County reported a total of 19,491 cases of COVID-19 Wednesday. There have been 115,561 negative test results in Essex County. There have been 1,855 deaths in Essex County attributed to the coronavirus.
