West Orange Schools Invite Community to Support Events


WEST ORANGE, NJ - The PTAs, Parent Sports Clubs, and school administrators in the West Orange public school district are always at work to help provide funds and equipments for their schools and teams. Here's a round-up of upcoming events, and the community is invited.

Roosevelt Middle School Roughriders Talent Showcase

On April 24th and April 25th of this year, Roosevelt will spring into talent history by sponsoring a two day Talent Showcase and Competition that will explode with musical and talent variety for all.   This two night talent showcase begins at 7:30 pm. The ticket costs are $10.00 in advance or $12.00 at the door. A ticket purchase is valid for both evenings, pending it is not pre-torn. Come and see our future American Idols because Roosevelt has Rough Rider Talent! Tickets can be purchased from participating students at Roosevelt or contact the production directors at RMS!   We hope to see you there!

West Orange High School Beefsteak Fundraiser

The West Orange High School Mountaineer Home Run Club will hold its Annual Beefsteak Dinner onFriday, April 25th at the Toby Katz Center, 650 Pleasant Valley Way.  Doors open at 6:30 pm and the cost is $40 per person.  Beer, wine and soda included. The Mall at Mt. Pleasant

Mother's Day is Sunday May 10th. Let the goods come to you at the Mt. Pleasant Mother's Day Mall on Friday, May 2nd from 7-9 pm. Shop till you drop for all of mom's favorites. Find that special gift for your mom, your sister, your best friend, or that special person you would like to honor. Vendors at the mall include jewelry, cosmetics, skin care, homemade lotions, candles, arts and crafts, and many more. 

St. Cloud Spring Clothing Drive

It's Spring and time to clean out your closets!  St. Cloud is holding their annual Spring Clothing Drive on Friday May 2nd and Saturday May 3rd.  We are collecting used clothing, shoes, accessories, stuffed animals, linens etc.  Items are collected and sent to needy countries and our school makes money for every pound donated.  All donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE!  Please drop off items at St. Cloud School, on the blacktop opposite Stagg Field, located on St. Cloud Avenue, on Friday, May 2nd from 3:00-5:00 pm and Saturday, May 3rd from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Liberty Middle School Fun Run

Join us at Liberty Middle School, Saturday, May 3rd (rain or shine) for the first Liberty Middle School 2 Mile Fun Run Fitness. The Run / Walk is to help celebrate National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. Registration begins at 7:30 am, and the Run / Walk starts promptly at 9:00 am. The cost is $12.00 for students, $15.00 for runners and $20.00 on race day. There will be prizes awarded for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. This Move for Health initiative will help support the Liberty Middle School Health and Wellness Committee and the Liberty Middle School Scholarship Fund. Hazel Elementary School Spring Closet Cleanout

Hazel Elementary School, located at 155 Mitchell Street, is sponsoring a Spring Closet Cleanout on Saturday, May 17, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.

All clothing, accessories, shoes, backpacks, blankets, toys, bicycles, and 'soft' household items like blankets, linens and towels will be accepted. Please place the items in large trash bags and tie them.

Pickups of items placed in tied trash bags are available on Thursday, May 15 after 5:00 pm or Saturday 17 from 8:00-10:00. Call 973-943-9224 to have your items picked up.
