WEST ORANGE, NJ - Three Pleasantdale Elementary School students were recognized by the Essex County Bar Association for their winning essays on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Ruth Lowenkron, Chairwoman of the Committee on the Rights of Persons and Disabilities for the Essex County Bar Association, presented the students with certificates of recognition at a May 2 assembly in the school auditorium. Lowenkron also works for the Education Law Center and specializes in disability law.

Fourth grade student Brianna Dannemiller was named winner of the essay contest. Geetika Komati earned an honorable mention for fourth grade students and Anna Deer earned an honorable mention for third grade students.
