WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange girls tennis team is off to a 2-2 start, but the team’s players at first and second singles have yet to lose.

Nneka Arinzeh and Gabrielle Jaffee, who play at first and second singles for the Mountaineers, have yet to lose a match. In West Orange’s most recent match, a 3-2 loss to Montclair-Kimberley Academy, Arinzeh defeated her opponent, 6-0, 6-4, on Friday. Jaffee got past her opponent in a grueling match, 3-6, 6-3, 10-4.

Arinzeh last summer reached the quarterfinals of the L4 Super Six Tournament in Glen Cove, N.Y.

Sophia Ruggiero has performed strongly at third singles for West Orange.

The doubles teams have consisted of Emma Grumet and Madison Oliver, and Sarah Cohen and Funke Oshodi. 

West Orange’s next match is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at home against Verona.
