“We are honored and humbled to continue on the great work of the West Orange Women's Club by awarding scholarships in their name,” said Rizzolo.

Senior Awards Night will be held on June 2, 2016, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the West Orange High School Auditorium.

The West Orange Women’s Club has awarded over $74,000 in academic and community service scholarships to West Orange High School seniors for both academic and vocational colleges; donated to local and state agencies; provided tutoring for West Orange School students; created gifts and favors for nursing home residents and veterans’ homes, brought books to the homebound, collected books for school libraries in disadvantaged areas, and filled Christmas stockings for troops abroad. The Club also recently donated several thousand dollars to the West Orange Public Library.

“It is with much gratitude that I say thank you to the West Orange Women’s Club for their generous donation to the West Orange Scholarship Foundation. It will help to fulfill our students’ dreams and goals,” noted WOHS Principal Moore.

The West Orange Scholarship Fund was organized in 1923 and has awarded in excess of $1.1 million to West Orange and Mountain High School graduates for post-secondary education costs. For consideration, students must complete an application that reflects academic achievement, financial need, and community service.
