Thursday, October 3

5:30 - 6:30 p.m.  Internet Marketing and Social Media . This course discusses the importance of internet marketing to today’s business and how social media such as Facebook and LinkedIn can enhance the effectiveness of internet marketing. This would be a beneficial seminar for those who are contemplating becoming an entrepreneur or are an existing business owner. This SCORE seminar is co-sponsored by the Library and the West Orange Chamber of Commerce. 

Friday, October 4

Noon - 6 p.m.  West Orange Farmer's Market in the Quigley Parking Lot, intersection of Harrison Avenue, Main Street, and Eagle Rock Avenue.

Saturday, October 5

8:30 - 4 pm Essex County Hazardous Waste Collection Day, 125 Fairview Ave., Cedar Grove.

11 a.m. - 4 pm  Essex County Environmental Center OctoberFest Celebration.  Go on canoe trips on the Passaic River or nature walks in Essex County’s West Essex Park. There will be a petting zoo, gardening tips, a live beehive display, woodturning demonstrations, pumpkin carving demonstrations, nature arts and crafts, face painting, free refreshments provided by Whole Foods Market of West Orange, a pumpkin patch maze, display tables from a variety of eco-vendors and live music by Lauren Hooker. Participating in OctoberFest with the Environmental Center are the County’s partner agencies: New Jersey Audubon, Essex County Master Gardeners, Essex County Beekeepers, 4-H Club, Essex County Rutgers Cooperative Extension, New Jersey Woodturners Association and the Essex County Environmental Commission. Admission is free and vendor items will be available for sale.

Sunday, October 6

11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Shred It Day at the West Orange Recycling Center, 590 Mt. Pleasant Avenue.
