WEST ORANGE, NJ - A winter Weather Advisory for New York City, nearby portions of northeast New Jersey and Westchester County and Long Island has been issued by the National Weather Service, for “wintry weather expected through early Monday morning.” It will be in effect until 7:00 a.m., EST on Monday.
There will be snow, with accumulations of two to four inches, freezing rain and ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch.
Snow will develop this afternoon and then mix with or change to freezing rain this evening. Precipitation will taper off after midnight tonight.
A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Residents are encouraged to be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and to use caution while driving.
