Parents of infants through preschoolers are invited to an open house on Saturday, Aug. 18 at the West Essex YMCA’s Peanut Shell Early Learning Center, 9 a.m. to noon.

The state-licensed Peanut Shell is the only childcare center in Livingston accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). It provides full- and part-time childcare for families in Livingston, West Orange, Roseland, the Caldwells and surrounding communities.

At the open house, children can learn about animals with The Lizard Guy and make crafts while parents tour the facility, learn about the curriculum, and meet Director Stephanie Anderson and teachers. The event includes free giveaways and yogurt parfaits.
