Bobbi Brown Public Discussion on How a Makeup Artist Built an Empire

If you are a small business owner, manage a side business for extra income or if you are just looking for business inspiration — you don’t want to miss the upcoming PNC-sponsored webcast Q&A with Bobbi Brown, “How a Makeup Artist Built an Empire,” at the West Orange Public Library on May 16, from 10:30 a.m. to noon (please arrive by 10:15 a.m.).

Those interested, may register for the event by sending an email to Harvetta.Lynch@PNC.com or calling 201-615-5697 with questions.

Every registration for the event, by a business owner, will be entered to win $25,000. In addition, attendees at the event, which is being hosted by PNC Branch Manager, Harvetta Lynch, and co-sponsored by NJSBDC, will participate in a raffle for a gift basket donated by Brown.

Brown, a beauty industry titan and trendsetting entrepreneur in the health and beauty industry, will share her advice on the day-to-day challenges of running a business and her own journey to success. The world-renowned makeup artist, best-selling author, sought-after speaker and serial entrepreneur will also discuss: How to Get Started, Networking for Success, Overcoming Moments of Helplessness, Pushing Through Adversity, How to Build a Brand and Mastering Time Management.

“We are thrilled to be offering this exciting program to the community we serve,” says Lynch. “At PNC, we strive to continuously provide interesting learning opportunities to local residents and those banking with PNC, so they can make educated smart business and money management decisions.”

Most people remember hearing about Brown as the professional makeup artist, who in 1991, created 10 simple lipsticks to highlight women’s natural looks, when the rest of the industry was featuring stark contours and shiny red lips. But what they may not know is that she sold the company to Estée Lauder in 1995, staying on as the chief creative officer, and building a billion-dollar brand before stepping away to launch Beauty Evolution LLC.

Her latest endeavors include EVOLUTION_18, a line of lifestyle-inspired wellness products; justBobbi.com, a platform where she shares her life inspirations; and The George, a 32-room boutique hotel in Montclair, NJ, that was created with her husband, Steven Plofker.

Brown is also the beauty and lifestyle editor of, “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show,” has a podcast called, “Long Story Short,” and is the author of nine beauty and wellness books – many of which have graced the New York Times best-sellers list.

In addition, Brown has received the Glamour Woman of the Year Award, the Fashion Group International Night of Stars Beauty Award and the Jackie Robinson Foundation’s ROBIE Humanitarian Award.
