Connect to Wellness

Connect to Wellness is an outdoor family wellness festival being organized by FAMILYConnections in honor of National Recovery Month.  The date is Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 1 pm to 5pm.  This free event for families will take place at the Clipper Pavilion, in South Mountain Reservation, West Orange (Cherry Lane).

National Recovery Month is sponsored every September by the US Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as a way to remind Americans that people can recover from mental health and substance use disorders to achieve healthy and rewarding lives.  Mental health and substance use disorders impact millions...so its important that there be a dialogue on prevention, treatment, and recovery so people know how to get help.  That is what Connect to Wellness is all about - raising awareness while giving families a chance to participate in activities that will help them live strong, healthy and happy lives. Afternoon activities will include yoga, meditation, zumba, kids activities and much more - all in a beautiful park setting.

FAMILYConnections is a leading NJ counseling and family services agency serving over 4,000 children, adults and families annually.  For 137 years, the agency hs provided counseling, skills-building, training and prevention services to help people overcome significant challenges like mental illness and addiction and much more!!
