Sam Cali Benefit Golf Outing

The Samuel D.J. Cali Foundation announces its first golf outing, to be held Oct. 16 at Essex County Country Club. All proceeds will benefit the Samuel D.J. Cali Foundation Invitational Scholarship Wrestling Tournament in January.

Samuel Cali was a Montville Township resident who died tragically at the age of 19 in a vehicle accident in 2016. “The Sam D. J. Cali Foundation is dedicated to promoting continuous education for persons who are hard-working, determined, dedicated, focused and have the loyalty it takes to be a wrestler while maintaining brotherhood, sportsmanship, integrity, public service, mentorship and being a role model,” according to the foundation’s website.

The day begins at 10:30 with registration and a putting contest, 11 a.m. lunch, a noon shotgun start, and dinner at 5 p.m.

The entire package is $195, while dinner only is $75, which includes beer and wine.
