WEST ORANGE, NJ — There were two additional cases of COVID-19 reported in West Orange on Monday, according to Mayor Robert Parisi. No new deaths were reported in the township.

The total intake of cases in West Orange was 1,438. Deaths are included in the "total intake" number and remain "active" until a full investigation is complete. The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in West Orange was 184.

Three residents were hospitalized with the coronavirus, and, of them, one was in intensive care. There were 191 current active coronavirus cases in West Orange. The township reports that there have been 1,172 recovered and closed cases.

Essex County reported a total of 19,190 cases of COVID-19 Monday, an increase of nine overnight. There have been 103,045 negative test results in Essex County. There have been 1,854 deaths in Essex County attributed to the coronavirus.

In New Jersey, there were 177 new cases of COVID-19 statewide on Monday for a total of 176,963 since the start of the pandemic. There were 798 patients hospitalized statewide with suspected coronavirus cases.
