WEST ORANGE, NJ — There were two additional cases of COVID-19 reported in West Orange on Thursday, according to Mayor Robert Parisi.

The total intake of cases in West Orange was 1,436, with no additional deaths reported on Thursday. Deaths are included in the "total intake" number and remain "active" until a full investigation is complete. The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in West Orange was 183.

Three residents were hospitalized with the coronavirus, and, of them, one was in intensive care. There were 231 current active coronavirus cases in West Orange. The township reports that there have been 1,130 recovered and closed cases.

Essex County reported a total of 19,135 cases of COVID-19 Thursday. There have been 101,311 negative test results in Essex County. There have been 1,822 deaths in Essex County attributed to the coronavirus.
