WEST ORANGE, NJ — There were two additional cases of COVID-19 reported in West Orange on Tuesday, according to Mayor Robert Parisi.

The total intake of cases in West Orange was 1,440, with no additional deaths reported on Tuesday. Deaths are included in the "total intake" number and remain "active" until a full investigation is complete. The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in West Orange was 184.

Two residents were hospitalized with the coronavirus, with one in intensive care. There were 149 current active coronavirus cases in West Orange. The township reports that there have been 1,215 recovered and closed cases.

Essex County reported a total of 19,208 cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, an increase of 18 overnight. There have been 104,112 negative test results in Essex County. There have been 1,837 deaths in Essex County attributed to the coronavirus.
