WEST ORANGE, NJ — There were 11 additional cases of COVID-19 reported in West Orange on Wednesday, according to data provided by Mayor Robert Parisi.
The total of COVID-19 related deaths stands at 154 in West Orange, which for the third consecutive day reported no new fatalities associated with the coronavirus.
The 11 new cases since Tuesday brings the West Orange total intake of cases to 1,253. Deaths are included in this number and remain "active" cases until a full investigation is complete. Fifteen residents remain hospitalized with three of them being treated in intensive care.
There have been 1,848 tests for COVID-19 that have registered as negative in West Orange.
"Total recovered cases and negative test results continue to rise," Parisi posted on his Facebook page. "Both good signs!"
Essex County reported a total of 16,952 cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, with 27,936 negative test results. There have been 1,571 deaths in Essex County attributed to the coronavirus.
